Description

An Immersion Excursion is the perfect opportunity to give students firsthand knowledge of companies. The Career Development Center will provide transportation for 14 students to the MedPro Group site for a tour and a chance to meet with its representatives to learn more about what it’s like to work at MedPro Group. 

Open to all majors with the preference being business, actuarial, computer science, organizational leadership, communications, math, and statistics.

Agenda to include:

  • Coffee and Light Breakfast
  • Leadership Speakers
  • Q/A
  • Facility Tour
  • Pizza Lunch
  • Networking
  • Shadowing/Immersion Experiences

Schedule:

  • 9:00 – 9:10 a.m. Light Breakfast & Coffee
  • 9:10 – 9:30 a.m. MedPro Group Welcome
  • 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. Employee & Intern Panel
  • 10:00 – 10:20 a.m. Underwriting
  • 10:20 – 10:40 a.m. Marketing
  • 0:40 – 11:00 a.m. Sales
  • 11:00 – 11:20 a.m. Actuarial/Data
  • 11:20 – 11:40 a.m. Tour of MedPro
  • 11:40 AM – Noon Q&A/Wrap Up
  • Noon – 1 p.m. Networking/Lunch
  • 1 – 2 p.m. Block Two Shadowing Experience
  • 2 – 3 p.m. Block Two Shadowing Experience

It’s expected that you have your resume reviewed by the Career Development Center before 10/20/21. Email your resume to resumereview@pfw.edu, and you will receive feedback between 48 to 72 business hours. Once your resume is reviewed and you update it, please make sure to follow the reviewers’ instructions to upload your final resume to Handshake. If your resume is not updated in Handshake by the date above, the Career Development Center reserves the right to withdraw your application and offer it to the next student who has followed the instructions.

If all 24 spots are taken, you will have the option to join the waitlist. Should a spot become available, students will be moved from the waitlist to registered status on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the career center moves a student from a waitlist, the student will be sent an email confirmation letting the student know they’ve been registered for the excursion. Note: Students may not receive the confirmation emails if they have unsubscribed from Handshake notification emails.

Immersion Excursion Registration Policy: students are limited to registering for 2 Immersion Excursions each semester.

  • 75 High-Impact Business Passport Points
  • 40 Endorsed Points (all majors)
